After more than 20 years of hosting one of the most successful outdoor art festivals in Hampton Roads, The Stockley Gardens Arts Festivals, we decided to host a similar festival in Chesapeake. After all, we don’t just support people with disabilities in Norfolk. And we want to give back to all the communities that make our work possible. The Fourth Annual Chesapeake Arts Show will come to life on April 26th and 27th, 2008. Held in partnership with Portlock Galleries and the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission, this is a juried fine arts and crafts festival. Because the Chesapeake Arts Show is still in its infancy, it’s a smaller, more intimate show than the Stockley Gardens Arts Festivals. Hosted in beautiful Lakeside Park in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake, the ambiance of this festival in the park will provide the perfect opener for a new season of art, music, and fun. The Chesapeake Arts Show features the work of artists and artisans working in media that include painting, photography, pottery, wood, metal, and more. Throughout the weekend, there will be live music, festival foods, entertainment and kids’ activities, as well as demonstrations from local artisans. Awards CeremonyAward winners will be announced Saturday evening during the Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will take place during the After Hours Awards Party, held from 5 pm to 7pm. Held in Lakeside Park, the After Hours Party is open to the public and provides a great chance to mingle with both patrons and artists. Vendors will be open and refreshments will be available for sale. All proceeds of the Chesapeake Arts Show benefit Hope House Foundation. | ||||||||||||||
