Hope House Foundation is a certified Service Enterprise leveraging a volunteers specialized skills, talents, and expertise to strengthen the infrastructure of the organization, helping us build and sustain our capacity and level of service to successfully achieve our mission. Skilled volunteer opportunities are available for working professionals, retirees, military personnel, and corporate volunteer programs.

Event Volunteering
The Stockley Gardens Arts Festivals, Shamrockin’ in Ghent and Chelsea West Fest are just a few of the fundraising events Hope House is proud to host throughout the year. Hope House events are unique and fun ways to give back, and our volunteers help make each event possible. We welcome individuals, families, groups, corporate volunteers, students and civic organizations to get involved.

Skilled Volunteer Opportunities

Hope House Foundation is seeking a part-time Human Resources Specialist – a skilled volunteer position that will join our Human Resources Team to build upon the capacity of the Human Resources Department.
This volunteer will be conducting research regarding employee retention and building employee recruitment, updating the current filing system, and will be working directly with the Hiring Manager. Additional requirements include organizing and updating Human Resources materials. Candidate must possess excellent computer skills, be creative, organized, and detail-oriented. Experience in Human Resources a plus; High school diploma required.
Experience: Professional experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Knowledge and experience in industry-specific jobs, particularly direct care and disability services.
As a part-time position, a minimum of 12 hours per month for 6 months is recommended.

Hope House Foundation is seeking a part-time Department Support – Human Resources position – a skilled volunteer position that will join our Human Resources Team to build upon the capacity of the Human Resources Department.
This volunteer will work directly with record maintenance and transition files to electronic record keeping. Additional requirements include organizing and updating human resource materials. Candidate must possess excellent computer skills, creative, organized and detailed oriented. Experience in human resources a plus; High school diploma required.
As a part-time position, a minimum of 12 hours per month for 6 months is recommended.

Hope House Foundation is seeking a part-time Life Enhancement Specialist – a skilled volunteer position that will join our Team Support Team to build upon the operations of the Team Support Department.
This volunteer will support the Team Support Department in all operations including but not limited to researching client prescription needs and Medicaid coverage, assessing dietary needs of individuals supported, educating staff and clientele on nutritional benefits and meal planning, and providing guidance on exercise and fitness, share knowledge and expertise by providing ad-hoc support to the team, work with team to identify and assess system needs within the department, and keep department up to date with developments in Medicaid, nutrition, and personal fitness.
Experience: Professional knowledge of medical practices and procedure, public health, and health promotion; Excellent project management and communication skills; Excellent computer and data entry skills.

Hope House Foundation is seeking a part-time Electronics Surveyor to join our Thrift Store Team to assist with checking electronic donations.
This volunteer will support the Thrift Store in all operations including but not limited to researching and identifying what electronic devices come into the store, assessing the value of donated electronic devices, organizing the electronics donation area by type of device, and providing guidance on potentially fixing devices that need rehab before being able to sell.
Experience: Knowledge of a wide array of electronic devices from cameras, computers, USB cords, testing video game consoles and video game discs, among many others; Excellent project management and communications skills; excellent organizational skills.
As a part-time position, a minimum of 12 hours per month for 6 months is recommended.

Hope House Foundation is seeking a part-time Life Enhancement Specialist – a skilled volunteer position that will join our Team Support Team to build upon the operations of the Team Support Department.
This volunteer will assist on all facets of Apple iPad technology and implementation, including but not limited to researching iPad applications and resources specific to the needs and goals of the people we support, training staff and people we support on iPad technology and applications, and providing assistance in integrating applications into daily service plans. Experience and knowledge of Apple iPad and application required.
As a part-time position, a minimum of 12 hours per month for 6 months is recommended.

Hope House Foundation is seeking part-time Department Support – a skilled volunteer position that will join our Services Team to build upon the operations of the Services Department.
This volunteer will assist in all facets of department and administrative support, but not limited to, assisting with quarterly team inspections, coordinating department meetings and trainings, managing supplies for first aid and hurricane kits, filing, and other clerical duties. Experience in administrative and clerical support is required.
Experience: Knowledge and experience with the Human Services field; Experience with administrative tasks; High School Diploma required; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
As a part-time position, a minimum of 12 hours per month for 6 months is recommended.
